Breakout EDU/Escape Rooms

Have you ever heard of an "Escape Room"?  An escape room is a physical adventure game in which players are locked in a room and have to use elements of the room to solve a series of puzzles and escape within a set time limit, or having completed a mission.  ("Escape Room." Wikipedia. Wikimedia Foundation, 19 Feb. 2017. Web. 24 Feb. 2017.)  Breakout EDU is the educational version of the Escape Room.

There are 2 different types of Breakouts.  One involves having the correct "equipment" (the Breakout box and locks) and the other involves having devices (in the case of users of this website, we assume Chromebooks).
A Breakout with the box and locks is usually done in larger groups and involves the "moderator" (you) printing out and setting up the space in which the game will be played.
A digital Breakout usually works best in pairs or groups of 3.  Digital breakouts usually only require getting the website of the particular game you are playing to your students - most often by posting an announcement in Google Classroom with a link to the game.  (In the case of the of our "Sports Executive Challenge" pedometers are required.)

If you have created a Breakout for PE or Health, please contact us and we will gladly add it to the site.

Games on the original digital site were created by Mari Venturino (@MsVenturino.) with additional games contributed by the community as noted.
